At present, VVC has partner relations with the exhibition centers Messe Essen (Germany), Nitra (Slovakia), Zagreb Fair (Croatia), Adriatic Fair, Budva (Chernogoria), exhibition center Paris-Nord Villepinte (France). VVC actively participates in the programs and events of such well-known international institutions as the International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE), International Fairs Union (UFI), International Movement for Leisure in Science and Technology (MILSET).
Within the framework of the 70-th International exhibition "Green week" in Berlin OJSC “The All-Russia Exhibition Center” (VVC), being a national exhibition operator, and German Agricultural Society (DLG, Hanover) signed the agreement on cooperation in the field of fair and exhibition activity, on January 21, 2005. The agreement was signed at the international conference “ Investments in the agrarian and food industry of Russia – outlooks of cooperation between Russia and Germany” participated by Mr. Alexei Gordeev, Minister of agriculture of the Russian Federation and Mss. Renata Kunast, Minister of protection of consumers, foodstuff and agriculture of Germany.
Year 1925 saw foundation of the International Fairs Union (UFI), which included major exhibitions and fairs from around the world. Since that time they are acting on the basis of the general charter. One of the basic reasons of appearance of this institution has become the wish to put to order running of the international fairs whose number constantly grows, having noticeably exceeded the needs of international goods turnover. UFI supreme body is the Congress conducted annually in various countries, whose exhibition organizations are represented in the Union. At the 26th UFI Congress in 1997 in Prague it was decided to adopt VVC as a member of the International Fairs Union and an organizer of the International Exhibition of flowers, plants, equipment and materials for decorative gardening and flower business - "Flowers". It is for ten years now that the Flowers Exhibition corresponds to all UFI requirements. The adoption of GAO VVC as UFI member is a great international success testifying to the complex great potential opportunities.
MILSET was formed in 1987 in Canada after the success of the first international exhibition of youth projects "Expo-Science-87". From that moment on MILSET organizes Expo-Science exhibitions in various countries, conducts science festivals, get-togethers, colloquiums, research seminars, summer universities, probation periods. Since 1987, 8 international Expo-exhibitions were conducted in Canada, France, Czechoslovakia, USA, Kuwait, South African Republic, Mexico, in 2001 Expo-Science returned to France (Grenoble). Since 1996, in the period between international (world) exhibitions the European Expo-Science exhibitions were conducted in Czechia, Portugal, Belgium, Slovakia. "Expo-Science" is a meeting place for the world youth united by the interest towards scientific research. For the youth it is an opportunity to present to the public their own scientific-research projects. This is a demonstration of the infatuation with science and technology and a wish to share it with other people. This is a place for exchange of opinions among the youth and with the general public, scientists, businessmen. For visitors this is a demonstration of live scientific thought accompanied by the wish of children and youth to show the results of their creative activity. From 12 to 18 July 2003, the 9th International Exhibition of the youth scientific-technical projects EXPO-Science-2003 organized by VVC together with the Moscow government and MILSET was conducted. It was participated by over 2 thousand young people aged between 7 and 23 from 88 world countries and 87 regions of Russia. Over 1,000 original projects in various science and technology areas were presented at the exhibition. GAO VVC s has been collaborating with the biggest exhibition center, Paris-Nord Villepinte, France, for more than 3 years. The principal objective of cooperation is construction of exhibition pavilions and raising investments using Paris-Nord Villepinte. Agreements of VVCs' strategic development and agreements for assistance in lobbying Russia's candidacy as arranger of the World Universal Exhibition EXPO-2010 have been implemented over this period. Professionals of Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Park, jointly with professionals from GAO VVCs, Moscow-based architects, and representatives of other interested agencies drafted proposals as to the facility's development and technical re-equipment strategy and as to construction of over 200,000 sq. m. of display space. If this project is implemented, our facility will be able to occupy a deserving place in the hierarchy of European exhibition centers, thus greatly enhancing economic efficiency of exhibition and fair business. The International Exhibition Bureau (BIE) was founded in order to monitor performance of provisions of the 1928 Paris Convention on International/World Exhibitions and to address a whole range of issues related to their arranging and holding. At present, 91 countries in the world are BIE participants. The headquarters of the agency are located in Paris. The first global universal exhibition took place in London in 1851. Since then, 46 such exhibitions have been arranged. The most recent global universal exhibition was held in Hannover in 2000; the next specialty exhibition will take place in Aichi, Japan, in 2005. Global universal and specialty exhibitions are unique events by their scale, public, political, and economic significance. Their principal objective is to publicly display the cutting-edge scientific, technical, and socio-economic achievements as well as history, traditions, and culture of member states. The humankind sort of sums up its activities for a certain period of time and determines its developmental prospects for the future at these exhibitions. Collaboration of VVCs with IEB and the top exhibition centers of the world has been carried out for several years. Mr. Magomed Kh. Musaev, Head of VVCs, is a delegate of the Russian Federation to BIE, member of the BIE's Executive Committee, and was included into BIE's delegation that is to visit Trieste, Italy, late in March 2004 for inspection and for examining whether the city is ready to host the Global Specialty Exhibition of 2008. Besides Spain and Greece, Italy is known to be struggling for the right to arrange this exhibition. Russia took an active part in the campaign under the 2010 project and developed the Concept for the Global Universal Exhibition EXPO 2010 in Moscow in 2010. The Concept specified goals and objectives of the exhibition, its advantages for the country and the city; estimated costs were calculated and substantiated; sources of covering them have been determined. By participating in campaign for EXPO 2010, Russia has taken a step in the right direction and displayed that it is able and ready to become a venue where urgent issues of contemporaneity will be considered, the venue for the Global Universal Exhibition. Both domestic and foreign experts did not and do not have any doubts as to VVCs' potential. The Commission for Architectural and Planning Development, Reconstruction and Construction of VVCs headed by Moscow Mayor Yury M. Luzhkov, with participation of Vice Mayor Valery Shantsev and ministers of the Moscow Government, was established at the Moscow Government for systematic preparation to EXPO 2015. Voting on the candidacy of the EXPO 2015 arranging country will take place in 2007, in accordance with BIE rules. Our country is again eying the option of taking part in the tender for the right to hold the Global Universal Exhibition, this time EXPO 2015. |
