From constructive dialogue to efficient cooperation – was the motto of the Russian National Exhibition in India which came to a close on November 28, 2008. According to Indian expert opinion, it was the best exhibition ever held in Delhi, content-rich, informative and up-to-date. The exhibitors included 21 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, public corporations, federal agencies, large companies. 282 manufacturers presented their research solutions, technologies, investment projects and facilities. The display area amounted to 6500 sq. m. The Exhibition was attended by such flagships of Russian industry, science and education as the Federal Agency for Science and Education, the Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos), the Federal Medical and Biological Agency, the Federal Agency for Education, the Public Corporation for Nuclear Energy (Rosatom), the Russian Academy of Sciences, OAO “Rosneft”, OAO “Stroitransgas”, OAO “Energomashkorporatsia”, OAO “Baltika Brewery”, AK “Alrosa”. The attention of Indian professionals was attracted by modern innovative projects, nanotechnologies, medical complexes, major breakthroughs in space technologies like GLONASS-series satellites, heavy-duty boosters, Soyuz launching system, etc. The business program covered 25 events. The Russian-Indian innovation forum proved to be quite efficient. The Exhibition featured an extensive social program. The artistic teams from the Voronezh, Samara, Penza regions, Kalinka Fashion Theater from Kirov, Vardan Markos and Vasily Kobzarev from the Krasnoyarsk Territory introduced the guests of the Exhibition to the folk art specifics. Provisional results of the Exhibition: Gasprombank (GPB) which attended the Russian National Exhibition plans to extend its presence and establish a Representative Office in India in the first half of 2009. The primary objective of the Gasprombank Representative Office will be to promote relations with the Indian public, financial and banking organizations. Besides, the Rep Office will market the GPB banking products, maintain the current projects and perform the Indian market research to promote cooperation with its customers and partners. Referring to the collective display of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the visitors’ keen interest was aroused by water treatment solutions presented by the Mining Institute and engine biofuel introduced by the Boreskov Institute of Catalysis. The Institute of Oil and Gas of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences reached a tentative agreement with Allied Autech International producing mechanical rubber products to supply materials for aggressive wear-resistant rubbers. The Moscow Aviation Institute and Indian companies RK FOUNDATION (RKFI) and Indo-Russian Aviation Limited (IRAL) signed a memorandum of intent for India-based joint production of Russian aircrafts and other projects to be initiated. The Astrophysics Company provisionally agreed with LASTEC, Laser Center of the Indian Ministry of Defense, to sign a delivery contract for laser equipment. OOO “Volna” involved in IT-technologies presented nanotechnological projects to prevent tsunamis and produce solar batteries which aroused a keen interest of Indian professionals. As part of a collective display of the Federal Space Agency (ROSCOSMOS), the Russian Research Institute of Space Instrumentation and the Department of Science and Technologies of the Ministry of Science and Technologies of the Republic of India conducted effective negotiations aimed at deliveries of ground-based systems for spacecraft automatic guidance. A cooperation agreement was signed between the Volga Federal District and the Indian-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. A similar agreement is to be signed with the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Administration. Special interest was shown in the I.I. Afrikantov Experimental Engineering Design Office active in the area of small-sized floating and ground-based nuclear power plants, in ZAO “Germast” manufacturing self-adhesive sealers and in medical solutions of the Institute of Applied Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It was medicine that aroused a keen interest of Indian professionals at the Orenburg regional display. Negotiations were held with SE Medicare PVT, Ltdo and YASHODA Company concerning mutual deliveries of medical equipment. Besides, a tentative agreement was reached to teach Indian students at the Medical Academy of the Orenburg region and invite practitioners to medical clinics. OAO “Uralskaya Stal” held provisional negotiations with ANICA, YASHODA and Malya Trading Company to have rolled steel and rolled non-ferrous metals delivered to India. In the framework of the Chelyabinsk regional display, Stroitekhnika Factory Ltd. involved in construction business held effective negotiations aimed at establishing joint ventures with a number of Indian companies and delivering relevant equipment and signed a letter of intent to make arrangements for production to be established in India. OOO “Gryphon” which displayed cold steel agreed to establish joint production in New Delhi. In the framework the Voronezh regional presentation, ZAO “UKMK RUDGORMASH” and SRB International from India entered into an agreement to build a mining equipment producing factory and establish a warehouse for spare parts delivered to the Republic of India. OAO “Tyazhmekhpress” and the Indian automobile plant TATA reached an agreement to re-equip the production facilities. The Main Department of Industry, Transport, Communications and Innovations and three Indian technoparks signed a memorandum of cooperation in the area of small aircrafts and nanotechnologies. The Voronezh Institute of High Technologies and the Mumbai University signed a students’ exchange agreement under the APTEC International Program. Referring to the Kirov regional exposition, the agrochemical producers and trading companies were most interested in the products of the Kirovo-Chepetsk chemical company. Following negotiations, an agreement was reached with such Indian companies as DAGA GLOBAL, CHEMICALS LTD, SHARDA WORLDWIDE EXPORTS LTD, TAGROS CHEMICALS and others to enter the Indian market and establish a joint production. The government delegation and Indian experts showed a keen interest in the exposition of NITOL Company from the Krasnoyarsk region dedicated to the innovative solar cluster project initiated in the region. The Company demonstrated samples of polycrystalline silicon, basic material for solar modules produced by the Company, and the products of further processing, a silicon cell photoconverter and a solar array. The Administration of the Leningrad region negotiated exportation of timber and metalworking products to the Republic of India, interest was expressed in education area and machine tool building. Provisional talks were held with the Halcyon Asia innovation company to have a logistics center build in the region. The Volgograd region presented its investment potential to the Indian industrial community. Mutual discussions were held to teach Indian students at the Volgograd Medical Academy, to train the Olympic reserve of Indian swimmers and track and field athletes at the University of Physical Culture. The Administration of the Khanty Mansi Autonomous District – Yugra signed an agreement with the Indian-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The Indian industrialists took a keen interest in forestry. The representatives of the Omsk region discussed deliveries of cryogenic and radio relay equipment and fuels and lubricants to India. The Indian entrepreneurs were especially interested in the exposition of small businesses from Moscow. In the course of the Exhibition the Moscow City stand was visited by over 100 professionals, arrangements were made to use the innovative development projects of Moscow small businesses. It was planned to sign four agreements for joint use of the projects in the Indian market. A proposal was made to establish two joint ventures. The Indian manufacturers were much interested in the system of nanotechnologies adapted for small businesses, light industry, service sector, agriculture, including antimicrobial leather finishing, cutting, welding, soldering of materials, producing high-strength scalpels made of nanocrystalline material. The Organizing Committee of the Exhibition hopes that the agreements reached and the contacts made will be further promoted and will lead to mutually beneficial cooperation between the Russian and Indian business quarters. |
